1. Who We Are
Solra ("we", "us", "our") is a personal safety platform operated from Cairo, Egypt. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Solra mobile application ("App").

3. How We Use Your Information
- Emergency response: Share your location with nearby responders and guardians when you trigger SOS
- Safety scoring: Analyze anonymized incident data to calculate area safety scores
- Walk tracking: Monitor your walk and alert guardians if you don't check in
- Medical booking: Connect you with nearby verified health providers
- Community safety: Aggregate anonymized incident reports for heatmap data
- Account security: Verify your identity and prevent abuse
4. What We Never Do
- We never sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties
- We never track your location when you're not using the app
- We never access recordings you haven't explicitly uploaded
- We never share your medical profile without your consent
5. Data Sharing
We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- During emergencies: Your name, location, and emergency type are shared with nearby verified responders
- With your guardians: Your location and walk status are shared with contacts you've added as guardians
- With medical providers: Your medical profile is shared with doctors you book through Solra
- Legal requirements: If required by Egyptian law or court order
6. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on Railway (cloud infrastructure)
- All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
- Authentication uses JWT tokens with automatic expiration
- Database access is restricted and connection-pooled
- Emergency evidence files are stored in encrypted cloud storage
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have about you (Settings → Export My Data)
- Correction: Update your personal information at any time
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account)
- Portability: Export your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent: Disable location sharing, notifications, or other permissions
8. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Emergency records: Retained for 5 years (legal compliance)
- Walk history: Retained for 1 year
- Incident reports: Retained for 2 years (community safety)
- Evidence recordings: Retained until you delete them
When you delete your account, your personal data is anonymized within 30 days. Anonymized data used for safety scoring may be retained indefinitely.
9. Children's Privacy
Solra is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies & Tracking
The Solra mobile app does not use cookies. We do not use third-party analytics trackers. We do not display advertisements.
11. International Users
Solra is currently designed for users in Egypt. If you use the App from another country, your data may be transferred to and processed in Egypt.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
